Join Parenting for Liberation in Celebrating Black Queer Parents!

Too often queerness and Blackness are twisted and disfigured to appear disconnected from each other, but we know queerness is woven seamlessly and beautifully into Blackness. We existed before we were brought here, we are here now, and there are queer Black people in the future!

This Parents day, we celebrate queer Black parents who show up everyday for their families as their authentic selves and this celebration centers our joy and our families. While this celebration centers Black trans, non-binary, gender expansive, etc. parents, we welcome their families into the space regardless of their identities. The event is free and we’re excited to be outside and have a family-fun day. We’ll have arts activities, food, giveaways and family portraits.

We’re hosting two celebrations in Oakland on Sunday, July 24th and in Los Angeles on Sunday, July 31st. Join us!
