“In search of my mother’s garden, I found my own.”

Alice Walker

In honor of Black motherhood, Parenting for Liberation is celebrating our 3rd annual Black Mama Magic event! This year we are bringing Black Mamas in Los Angeles together for an intimate outdoor gathering centering the connection between motherhood and mother nature.

Through connecting with plants and the natural elements, we will reflect and discuss how we are tending to our own ‘soil’ or source of nourishment as mothers and how Mother Earth can be a source of healing and support.

We’re excited to partner with Barbara Lawson, Founder of Meet Me in the Dirt, a mobile healing garden, who will share her deep knowledge of plants and guide us in all things plants and self-care.

Join us for a beautiful afternoon of plants, healing, and community!

*With the safety of our communities in mind, we are limiting capacity and following COVID-safety protocols including required mask-wearing and hand sanitizing stations. Additionally, we are requiring all adults to show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
