Join author, Trina Greene Brown, as she celebrates the one-year anniversary of her debut bestseller, Parenting for Liberation: A Guide for Raising Black Children.
Join us on Juneteenth, June 19th, at the beautiful Secret House of Ivy for a light brunch, Q&A discussion, interactive activities, and book signing!
This event is an awesome opportunity to connect with other Black parents & caregivers who are committed to the liberation of themselves and their children. Event is limited capacity and in line with COVID safety protocols.
In partnership with Institute of Black Intellectual Innovation, Segerstrom Center for the Arts presents its first-ever Juneteenth celebration on the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza! Join us for an afternoon of interactive activities and artistic performances celebrating Black innovation and resilience in music, poetry, visual art, and gardening. Artistic curation by Dr. Natalie Graham, Director of the Institute of Black Intellectual Innovation at California State University, Fullerton.
Celebrate Black Daddies & Fathers with us on Sunday, June 20, 2021 for a socially-distanced drive-thru, pop-up Daddy’s Day celebration!With the support of our local partners, Dior Sunset Foundation, we are giving away Daddy care kits (valued at over $100) filled with Fatherhood Pledge, affirmations, t-shirt, masks, beard oil, Black soap, sanitizer – PLUS boxed BBQ lunches from Johnson Bros BBQ! Pull up and enjoy music from DJ Eric, pick up your gift, grab your lunch box, connect with community resources and vendors, and afterwards stop by our photo booth for a Daddy Day photo-op!Event is open to all Daddies/Fathers of Los Angeles!
