Habari Gani?  Umoja!

Today is the first day of Kwanzaa, a week-long celebration that honors African heritage of the Black Diaspora. We will be highlighting the importance of the seven core principles of Kwanzaa, how you can practice in your families and communities, and share how Parenting for Liberation work embodies the tenets of each principle.

Today, on the first day of Kwanzaa we celebrate Umoja. Umoja, or unity, is about striving for and maintaining unity in the family, the community, the nation, and people.

Parenting for Liberation intentionally brings together Black parents and children to celebrate the resilience and joy of Black families. Below is snippet of our video from the Kwanzaa event.
