For #WomensHistoryMonth, Parenting for Liberation wants to honor Black mama’s who are doing the work of raising liberated children. Throughout the month of March we will highlight Black mamas who lead, inspire, and cultivate liberation in their homes and in the community. Some are public figures and others are connected to our network. We are happy to honor and shine light on their Black Mama Magic!

Today we salute Danielle Slaughter, a mama, writer, activist, academic, and much more for embracing her WHOLE self!

Motherhood is not something I need to hide in order to succeed because it’s a part of who I am. Motherhood helped guide me to social justice work. I am going to be all of me starting right now and forever, you’re getting the WHOLE Danielle – writer, mother, activist, wife, artist, and whatever else I choose to be.”
