For #Women’sHistoryMonth, Parenting for Liberation wants to honor Black mama’s who are doing the work of raising liberated children. Throughout the month of March we will highlight Black mamas who lead, inspire, and cultivate liberation in their homes and in the community. Some are public figures and others are connected to our network. We are happy to honor and shine light on their Black Mama Magic!

Today we salute Lesli LeGras Morris (@justice.truth.love) for highlighting the complexity of Black parenting.

“mamahood can be such a lonely + isolating experience. parenthood is especially complex for black folks, who are navigating intergenerational trauma + systemic racism WHILE raising our babies. breaking historical chains + raising free children is not for the faint of heart! + it’s best done in beloved community.”
