For #Women’sHistoryMonth, Parenting for Liberation wants to honor Black mama’s who are doing the work of raising liberated children. Throughout the month of March we will highlight Black mamas who lead, inspire, and cultivate liberation in their homes and in the community. Some are public figures and others are connected to our network. We are happy to honor and shine light on their Black Mama Magic!
Today we salute Audre Lorde @audrelorde for teaching us that parenting Black children requires love + resistance!
“Raising Black children – female and male – in the mouth of a racist, sexist, suicidal dragon is perilous and chancy. If they cannot love and resist at the same time, they will probably not survive. And in order to survive they must let go. This is what mothers teach – love, survival.”
